Advisory & Monitoring Committee

Advisory & Monitoring Committee Meet on 15 August 2004.
 

The first meeting of the Little Heart Advisory & Monitoring Committee took place on 15th August 2004 under the chairmanship of Justice Mr. B P Jeevan Reddy. Shri D Suresh Babu, Dr P Krishnam Raju, Prof. Arun K Tiwari, Dr M Gopichand, Dr. G Ramasubramanyam and Dr K Nageshwara Rao were present.

Dr. P Krishnam Raju presented to the committee the statistics about the cases registered and so far undertaken in this program. The following points emerged:

1. The Little Heart Foundation is offering a maximum of RS 25000/- for a surgery or an intervention. No funds are released for diagnostics.

2. Children from outside the state of Andhra Pradesh are also included.

3. All the patients are assisted in filing CMRF and PMRF application forms. However, they are being discharged pending availability of fund.

4. Deliberations with Rotary International are on to mobilize for funding of RS 25000/- per surgery done. It will be based on their criteria.

It was decided that:

1. The above will continue.

2. Diagnostic protocol will be evolved for prenatal detection of congenital heart defects.

3. Awareness will be created about symptoms of congenital heart defects among children.
